The 11th annual Butterfly Effect Cabarete will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2019. This year’s event, sponsored in part by Millennium Resort & Spa, welcomes women, and girls from all over the world to participate in this non-competitive water sports event.
About the Butterfly Effect
The Butterfly Effect was founded in Hawaii in 2007 by Tatiana Howard, an avid water woman who enjoys windsurfing, surfing, kite surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, and tow-in surfing. Since its first event in 2007 in Maui, Hawaii with a dozen women, The Butterfly Effect has evolved into a BE ALOHA World Tour with over 50 different non-competitive events in 19 countries, with thousands of participants.
“Water sports have empowered and inspired me to live out my hopes and dreams, and giving back to surf communities worldwide is a passion
Giving back in Cabarete
A fundraising dinner will be held where all of the funds raised support The DREAM Project Summer Schools and Camps, educating more than 1,100 at-risk youth.
“The DREAM Project is so proud to collaborate with our Butterflies every summer, raising both awareness for women in water sports and contributing much-needed funds for local youth participating in innovative summer programs. The way this event brings the community together, there is simply none other like it.” Jonathan Wunderlich, Director of Development for the DREAM Project.
The Dominican Republic Education And Mentoring (DREAM) Project is a US 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides quality education for all children born into poverty in rural areas and small communities of the Dominican Republic.
